Hawea House 哈威亚住宅

A house on the dry terraces above Lake Hāwea, where the wind comes off the water and the tussock never stops moving.

The walls are built from river stone gathered on the land, laid rough and left to weather. Above them a dark timber soffit reaches out past the glass, deep enough to hold the summer sun off the rooms and to make a sheltered edge where the house meets the grass.

Openings are cut rather than composed. Each one takes a single piece of the landscape, a slope, a run of water, a line of hills, and holds it still.

住宅坐落于哈威亚湖上方干燥的台地之上，湖风掠过，草丛始终摇曳不息。

墙体由场地上就地拾取的河石砌筑，粗粝地叠放，任其在风雨中自然变化。其上，深色木质天花向外延伸，越过玻璃界面，足以在夏日为室内遮挡阳光，并在建筑与草地相接之处形成一道有庇护的边界。

洞口是被切割出来的，而非刻意经营。每一个洞口只截取风景的一个片段，一道山坡、一段水流、一列远山，并将其定格。
